Megan learned that her cancer had recurred, many years after
first diagnosis and treatment.

Before she underwent surgery we worked out a plan of eating that gave her maximum nutritional intake, even when she didn’t feel like eating and was very tired. The focus was on maximising her resilience and recovery. After her discharge I also visited her at home, and with her consent discussed meal suggestions with her family, to help her recover.

During her chemotherapy she developed a number of side effects affecting appetite, taste and energy levels. We modified her

nutrition plan and she was able to complete her courses of chemotherapy.

Throughout her treatment I wrote to her various consultants to keep them informed of my recommendations, with copies of the relevant research papers.
